Distinctive Bakery Opens in Lake Forest September 2008 – “It’s Sugar-Free!” That’s the motto of the Bye Bye Sugar Bakery, a unique newbusiness that has opened in Lake Forest, California. Owned and operated by local residents Han Lam and Doanh Tran, the Bye Bye Sugar Bakery offers delicious cakes, pies, pastries, cookies, candies, chocolates, smoothies, and frozen yogurt . . . all made without sugar. “We believe we are one of the only all sugar-free bakeries in Orange County and maybe inCalifornia,” said owner Doanh Tran. “Our pastries, cakes, cookies, and pies are baked fresh using avariety of sugar substitutes. We use only the natural fruits; such as in our peach pinwheels, pies, turnovers and Smoothies.” Located at 23635 El Toro Road, Suite D, across from the newly revitalized Orchard Shopping Center, Bye Bye Sugar Bakery also whips up tasty fresh fruit smoothies for customers wanting a cool treat and offers frozen yogurt, and a wide variety of chocolate and hard candies. All sugar-free, of course. The owners of Bye Bye Sugar see their bakery not only as a business, but also as a mission for good health. Co-owner Han Lam stated, “Several members of my family have diabetes and they always wanted good tasting, sugar-free treats, which we couldn’t find very often. When I learned about baking without sugar, I decided to open a bakery.” Bye Bye Sugar Bakery sells pies and cakes whole and by the slice, as well as individual cupcakes, pinwheels, scones, brownies, éclairs, and other bakery favorites. Bye Bye Sugar Bakery also takes custom orders for decorated birthday cakes. Bakery hours are closed on Monday, Tuesday – Thursday 9:30 am -7:00 pm, Friday – Saturday 8:00 am - 7 pm, and Sunday 9:30 am - 4:00 pm.
